EXP and MTN Qhubeka win a Silver at the 34th Annual Loerie Awards

Leading experiential and sponsorship marketing agency, EXP, recently won a Silver Loerie Award at the prestigious 34th annual Loerie Awards event held on the 22 – 23 September 2012 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.  
The Silver Loerie was achieved under the Ubuntu Award – a category launched in 2010 that recognises brands contributing to social and environmental change.  The accomplishment of a Silver award within this class pays tribute to EXP’s continued cutting-edge determination within the events activation and public relations arena relating to the MTN Qhubeka initiative.

MTN Qhubeka is a joint partnership between leading telecommunications company MTN and Qhubeka committed to moving individual’s forward one bicycle at a time by introducing cycling to rural communities around South Africa. The MTN Qhubeka project is unique in its approach as it encourages all members within an area to actively take part in the upliftment of both their environment as well as their well-being. By planting trees and waste recycling members within a community receive barter vouchers, which can be exchanged for a Qhubeka bicycle, groceries, building material or education. 
EXP has been instrumental in providing the MTN Qhubeka campaign with unique and proactive event activation strategies and supporting the delivery of bicycles to communities. Similarly EXP has developed and implemented specific key objectives and messaging around the ongoing initiative, providing MTN Qhubeka with the necessary platform to inform stakeholders and the general public of its continued success in mobilizing and uplifting individuals and ultimately entire communities.
